Wearing a tattoo and choosing what design would be attractive for you is an important thing before getting it. Since a tattoo is a permanent mark on your skin, you probably never thought of removing it at a later date when you decided to have one done. It is only now that you realized that you do not want it anymore and you are considering removing it, of the methods available you need to determine which one is the right method is for you.

To help you decide which method to choose, here is a list of possible options with some brief introduction of what procedure, effects, and cost you may want to consider before choosing.

* Laser tattoo removal - highly concentrated pulses of light are directed onto the tattoo to break down the pigmented skin markings but this procedure is usually painful, you will be required to use numbing creams. To complete the procedure, laser sessions may take 20 series which cost up to $200 to $500 each session. This procedure may cause blisters, scars, and scabs.

* Removing tattoos through Dermabrasion or Salabrasion - Dermabrasion is a method that uses a small portion of spray to freeze the tattooed skin. The skin is then sanded using a rotary abrasive instrument for peeling the skin. Salabrasion is another method that uses ordinary tap water with salt applied on the tattooed area. The skin is then abraded. Both methods are painful because of the peeling of the skin and therefore require the use of local anesthesia and dressing for the scar. How many sessions will depend on the level of the tattoo.

* Removing tattoo through the use of Removal Creams - Tattoo Removal Institute recommends several effective creams for tattoo removal. Effectiveness of the cream varies according to the tattoo but the only recorded side effect is the effect of bleaching on skin. Since this is a gradual method, continuous application of cream is necessary. The good thing here is that creams are affordable.

* TCA or Trichloroacetic acid for tattoo removal - this method works through exfoliating the skin. It will also require enough time to complete the exfoliation process since the procedure will not be completed with just an overnight. The tattoo will fade as you apply the acid into your skin. This method is more affordable than surgery or laser removal.

* Removing tattoos with Glycolic acid peel - This procedure also uses acid (alpha hydroxyl acid) to peel off the skin on the tattooed area. It can be applied at home and may also take time to peel the skin off. The cost of the acid is also affordable than having laser surgery.

* Tattoo removal through Surgery - a doctor or dermatologist should be the one to do this procedure because it requires incision and stitches. This method is also effective but is not covered in any insurance. Dermatologists usually use this for small tattoos.

There are different methods to choose from if you want your tattoo to be removed, but if you want to opt for more affordable and less scar and wounds after effects, go for cream for tattoo removal. Creams are more effective, less costly, and easy to apply.
